Workshops and Groups

March 14:  Liz Carroll - Irish Fiddle Workshop

March 14: John Doyle - Guitar Workshop

Contact Sharon Goldwasser for more information or to register. Seats limited.

The Auld Dubliner Session is focused on  playing Irish (and some Scottish) style playing and reserves the first hour of play for slower playing and easier tunes. (See the Tunes link for some tunes in play.) No instruction is offered since some basic proficiency with your instrument is expected.  This page details some ways you can learn a new instrument or advance your Irish and Celtic style playing with local teachers and group instruction.

Teachers in Southern Arizona:

There are informal group learning opportunities sponsored by Tucson Friends of Traditional Music (aka TFTM) such as the TFTM Slow Jam hosted by Mike Elam and the  Rincon Market Jam  hosted by Dave Firestine.  Both jams play a mix of  Irish, Scottish, contradance, Quebecois and old-timey tunes using a variety of styles.  See the TFTM Calendar for details.

Camps offer intensive 3-6 day instruction in music and dance.  Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp, the Friday Harbor Irish Music Camp, Zoukfest, and others have all been enjoyed and are highly recommended by folks from the Tucson area
