Tucson Folk Festival
May 5-6
|
From
Sharon Goldwasser:
I'd like to let you know that there are Irish
music workshops being offered on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday May 6 at the
Tucson Folk Festival which takes place in downtown Tucson
at Presidio Park, near the courthouse, with some activities located at
the downtown library and near the Tucson Museum of Art.
The entire folk festival is free, and if you have
never attended, it has a very diverse selection of folk music, including
Irish, old-time, blue-grass, singer-songwriters and more.
Irish music performances that I know of include: Gemini Duo with Don
Gest at Noon (Plaza Stage) on Saturday May 5 and Round the House on Sunday
May 6 at 5:15 (Courtyard Stage). Spontaneous sessions occasionally
spring up when nothing is scheduled.
Members of Round the House are all offering music workshops:
bodhran: Claire Zucker, Sat May 5, 1 pm, Corbett House
mandolin: Dave Firestine, Sat May 5 2 pm, N. of City Hall
Irish guitar: Mark Robertson-Tessi, Sat May 5 3 pm, N. of City Hall
Irish fiddle: Sharon Goldwasser, Sun May 5 , 3 pm Corbett House
